Real silver reacts to chlorine, tainting itself black. It is a bother to clean later with toothpaste and a clean cloth but it is a sure way to determine if something is made of silver or not. Yes. It is real silver. The mechanical pencil is 0.5 as reference of the size. The ring used is sterling silver 925.
