As I took them out of the packaging, I thought they were plastic. I scratched part of the inside to make sure it was indeed a wooden frame. It is. I think they way they were polished makes them look more like plastic. I've received about 6 or 7 pairs of wooden sunglasses from AE over the last 3-4 years and these aren't as "wooden" as the other pairs which cost about the same. Hard to explain, but when you see my collection of sunglasses side-by-side, you would immediately be able to tell them apart.
