feels bit wobbly and spring that locks staff is quite short. Also bit tricky to lock down...

Not bad - but not that good either. It's not very strong, and the foot is not weighted. Some of the plastic tubing covering the connecting wire is broken. The length is not adjustable. This appears to be a hiking pole which has been adapted to fishing use, but without enough thought.
