Arrived on time and undamaged. Used this iron for basic tasks such as soldering stranded wire to component lugs for electronics projects, and connecting a pigtail to a vehicle harness after squirrels chewed through the factory harness. The iron performed well. It heats quickly (less than 1 min). Increasing the temp by several degrees yielded enough heat to flow solder into the larger gauge conductors in the vehicle harness. I'd been looking at soldering stations and decided on this b/c its compact and cost effective. I haven't used it for very long (probably just an hour of working time over several weeks), but I'm pleased so far.
I bought this because even though I have a Weller soldering station for normal projects in my garage, sometimes its nice to have just a small compact soldering iron if you want to do something quickly in the house or if I need to fix something at work its much easier to grab this and go then pack up my whole station. and what makes things better is I've bought inexpensive soldering irons before but they had no control and they were one set temp and it was trial and error to see if it was up to temp and ready to use whereas this one you can set your exact temp. I am very happy with my purchase and this helps me tinker with my raspberry pi project I sometimes do on my lunch break :D
