The neutral: The chips are very light. About 0.5 gram each. Some weight on them would have been nice. Uneven distribution: 36 (1 dot), 8 (5 dots), 40 (8 dots) and 4 (9 dots) chips. Not critical. The good: The design of the chips is really cool. They are ergonomic, very nice to hold, and are very distinct from the standard round gaming chips – they give the feeling of authenticity of Mahjong. The material is good. Simple plastic, but creates an impression of bone. The great: The sound - the clicking is fantastic. I wish I could attach an audio file to give you the impression. They sound amazing. Overall, I do not mind the defects, so I am satisfied. Nitpickers might not be. Be warned.
And finally, the bad: The painting job on most of the chips is just awful. The paint is just kind of poured in the holes. The separation of the pieces is also not good. For such small pieces (6.5 cm) it ruins the feeling of holding these. But most pieces are cut all right, the ones that are not just bother me.
I didn't mind the long time it took for the item to arrive. I just wish I had been able to track it accurately. I had given up hope when the package suddenly showed up in my mailbox. I want to be clear: The item was shipped shortly after I purchased it. It just took a lot in transit, which is understandable given the low fee charged for shipping it from China to New York.
