this is pure cheating. It is not "USB3.0", but "USB2.0". If USB3.0 has a mini-B end (not to be confused with "micro-B" which is very common and well-known), that mini-B male end could only be inserted into a female mini-B USB3.0 and it would NOT fit into a similarly looking mini-B of USB2.0. While USB2.0 cable with mini-B end will fit into both mini-B female ports - be it USB2.0 or USB3.0 (it will reduce speed of USB3.0, of course). Think of it this way - full "B" USB2.0 male end will fit into full "B" female of USB2.0 and USB3.0, while full "B" USB3.0 male would NOT fit into USB2.0 "B" female port. The same applies to micro-B - USB2.0 micro-B male would fit into USB3.0 female micro-B (into its bigger part), but USB3.0 would NOT fit into USB2.0 micro-B. The same applies to mini-B of USB3.0. Hence the cheating here. It is not USB3.0, but USB2.0. I easily inserted its mini-B end into a female USB2.0 mini-B which must be impossible if it were indeed USB3.0.
