It is claimed that the 3 pieces are made of stainless steel but if they are, they are of different quality. The top grater piece is cannot be magnetised (good). The drain basis and the full basin both can attract magnets. The steel construction is thin, quite light, and it may not be safe to use the basin for direct heat-cooking.
