Perhaps the water drops do not stay on the film, as it stay on the glass, but the images from picture are misleading. The water drops from rain still stay on the film. I mounted one film on the mirror glass, and I proved. It makes mirror a little bit darker (althought film is transparent) but you can still see well the objects in the mirror. I did not remove the film yet, but the images from product page are misleading. Overall, I cannot say that I recommend the product
