Great product, just bought a second one. The buck converter for the USB port is connected to the full 18v / 20V pack which is good. however because it is permanently connected, you do not want to leave a battery connected to the adapter for storage. Make sure to remove you battery when you are fished using the tool if you are storing it for long term. Glenn
