The assembly is easy and straightforward (and yes, you don't have to own specialized soldering iron for SMT to solder the tiny IC, it isn't presoldered, but steady hands and a sharp soldering iron tip is actually all you need). Calibration is not difficult: just have a 100+ nF capacitor (ceramic, film one, not electrolytic) ready and follow the instructions on screen. The tester also sometimes offers to do the calibration again, not sure what triggers it. Also, the ZIF panel could better be lifted up by design, since many of users mention it's hard to move the lever up and down because of the case and board design conflict. You can extend the lever with a plastic tube if you want. In my opinion: good kit, good and compact instrument.
