I installed this BMS on a 14s lithium battery pack. When I plugged in the balance wires they immediately started smoking. Unplugged and checked wiring... all good. Tried again with the same result. I took the cover off the PCB and found that the solder on the balance wire plug was sloppy. Pins 13 and 14 were bridged causing a short. I cleaned it up with a soldering iron and that problem was fixed. Almost caused a fire. Now cell #14 voltage reads 1.5 volts low when other cells are balancing. This will prevent cell 14 from balancing.
