Tested and works really well. It's quite a difficult board to integrate though. Power and ground are drilled through holes, but TX and RX are surface mount. The top and bottom pads are not connected. The top side converts the signal for one device, and the bottom side for a separate device. So there are two bi-directional conversion channels. I needed pin headers and only one channel so I drilled holes and removed the bottom pads with a larger drill bit so that top and bottom don't connect, then soldered pin headers. The result is breadboard friendly and works well, but next time will order a breadboard-friendly max3232 module.
