There was a piece of soldering between the pcb and the housing that prevented decent cooling, but this was easy to solve. So it might be a good idea to inspect the device before using, but apart from this minor issue, it works fine! 2.5 watt seems a bit much for this one though, it gives a fairly decent signal till about 1 to 1.5 watt max @ 144 MHz here. Applying some filtering at the output for the frequency you intend to use this thing is a good idea, I would say (there is room enough to add a simple filter in the case). Might be a good choice if you are looking for something that is placed in a rather decent housing already.
